    Finished tortoise table!

Thank you!! 😊 Bringing plants in from outside is the only thing I could think of. I’m not sure how they’ll do inside but it’s worth a try! A pet store near me sells plants for terrariums, but I can’t find enough information about how they’re grown to know if they’re safe, and unfortunately...

    Finished tortoise table!

I will lower it now. I just had to raise the CHE and basking lamp since the temps were getting above 100 under them. I’ll look into getting a Solarmeter as soon as possible. Thank you for all of your help!

    Finished tortoise table!

Yes, he’s full grown. My friend built this for me in record time and I’m really happy with how it turned out! I’m going to get some plants for visual barriers, but I’m trying to figure out then best way to do that and still make sure they’re safe for him. I have the tortoise table app so I know...

    Finished tortoise table!

After posting this, I moved the basking lamp to overlap a bit more with the UVB. The bulb is a 10.0. I changed out the 5.0 before using it because I learned with my bearded dragons that they’re too weak. The distance is about 21” from the substrate, do you think it needs to be lowered any? I...

    Finished tortoise table!

It’s all set up! I think I have the lighting placement figured out but am open to any suggestions. My house is pretty drafty so I placed a CHE beside the basking bulb. I’m hooking it up to a thermostat and hoping it keeps the right temps throughout the table, but I will add a second CHE on the...

    Can’t find incandescent flood bulbs

I was able to grab the last 75w on the shelf tonight at the pet store. I’ll be ordering from the link he posted to make sure I have back up bulbs for when I need them. I thought about trying to ask the company about the fluker’s bulbs so I may do that since they are such a good price. Either...

    Can’t find incandescent flood bulbs

I may have to go that route if at some point I’m unable to find the Arcadia flood light. I was fortunate to find the only 75w left on the shelf at a pet store.

    Can’t find incandescent flood bulbs

It doesn’t say anything on the bulb besides the brand name and wattage. It looks identical to other flood lights but I don’t think I’ll chance it.

    Can’t find incandescent flood bulbs

Thank you!! I’ll check it out then when I get home. I buy them in bulk for my bearded dragons so that would be super convenient.

    Can’t find incandescent flood bulbs

This is what I have and this one is definitely not okay to use?

    Can’t find incandescent flood bulbs

I found some regular incandescent bulbs on there, but no flood bulbs. I’m going to try and get some of the Arcadia bulbs suggested above.

    Can’t find incandescent flood bulbs

I’m headed out this evening to get some things for the new setup, I’ll look to see if they have these. Thank you!

    Can’t find incandescent flood bulbs

My 8x3 table is almost finished and I’m working out the lighting. I’ve learned here that the fluker’s basking bulb I’ve been using is no good. I have a repti tuff halogen bulb but I’ve read they’re no good either. I live in PA and have searched everywhere - hardware stores, farm supply stores...

Help with lighting & paint options

It’s a good idea to add a fixture on each end which I wouldn’t have thought of, so thank you for that! I’m trying to get it right the first time and not have to bother my friend to add on/redo anything. He’s building it much faster than I anticipated so I appreciate the quick response!
