Thanks
its way easier then you would think. I just dug a hole a bit larger then the size that I wanted the pond. layed down a bit of chicken wire. Mixed up some 5000 cement that I picked up at the home depot. slopped it in there and let it dry. The cement has gravel already in it and you can smooth it out but I left it ruff so the torts would be able to get some traction. Keep in mind I live in Miami Florida so we don't have to worry about the whole freezing and thawing thing.

I just wanted to give an update.
My torts are using their hide everyday. I only had to put them in at night for about a week or so then cover up some of the places that they were spending the nights in.
I think it is cute to walk out in the morning and see a little head poking out from the hole in the rock. I wonder if they take turns for the "view".

Your yard is beautiful. How do you clean your pool? Do you have a drain? Also, what kind of fencing do you have around your yard? I didn't see any!

Thank you. I love to be out there cutting the grass and the hedges.
As for the Tortoise pool. I just have a small pump that a pop in once a week and drain it down then when I come by with the leaf blower I get the last bit out. Then I let it sit dry for a day to kill off the algae.
There is a wooden privacy fence behind the ficus hedges and I put some more boards along the bottom to keep them from seeing out.
