Itort Wrote:I bought three of her RFs last year and they are good quality. She raises them up on "pasture" outside and they eat like little pigs. I recommend her.

BTW I forgot to mention that the RF I have now came from
Debbie. She just lives a few miles from me. She brought 3
yearlings into the pet shop when I was there. I snagged one
real quick! Only had to pay $50.00!!!!!!!! What luck!
Here he is! The one at the pet shop is twice his size, but
I feel they feed too much "turtle food" and just slightly thawed
frozen mixed vegies. My guy gets to graze, weather permitting
and gets field greens, fruit and dandylion. I keep hen&chicks
planted in shallow pots in his enclosure.[attachment=398]
LOL sounds like just about all of us have ties to MO. Big GrinBig Grin Welcome!

Wait, now I feel so alone.... Tongue
Nahhh your never alone. I have some family you could claim...

I live in NW AR near Fayettville so you are not too far from me. :-) I am a Brazilian Redfoot breeder. :-) The guy you are thinking of buying from, is his name David by any chance? Just curious.

Small world...we drove thru Fayettville this morning. Big Grin

My oldest daughter goes to college near KC in Belton. My husband works for PRIME trucking out of Springfield. My Grandparents on the West/Fletcher side came from El Dorado area. See I is a MO hillbilly by blood. Big Grin
Now watch out Jacqui! Them hillbillys is those Arkys. LOL
we'er just red-necks here in SW MO. I am
about 45 min. from Springfield, & 2 hrs. from KC.
Don't worry Kelly your not alone I have never been nor do I have ties to MO. Smile Dreamer I am in Arizona. I don't ever get to see wild torts or turtles Sad . I am thinking of taking vacation by myself no kids or hubby and maybe go herping somewhere.
Huummm! Never seen any wild torts in Arizona? I do think they have a type of desert tort there. Please,
someone correct me if I'm wrong! A vacation alone..........WOW! I hope that plan comes to fruit!!!!
We have Dessrt Torts and a subspecies of ornate boxies, I have never seen any though.. I sure hope my vacation comes through, I know in April I am taking a weekend to go to tucson to a reptile show..
You should be able to come across desert torts and desert boxes (ornata lutea). I think western painted range there too.

Oh, let me know how the show was!! We have a couple of them
here. They are 2 hrs away from me and I haven't gone to one yet.
Not sure they are worth the drive. Meaning not sure how good
they are. As for boxies here in Mo. I have to make several road
stops, to pick them up & put them on the other side of the road!
I don't know why drivers can't avoid themSad If they are close
enough to our place, I bring em home & release them here.
Some yrs. we see several & others not so many. We see them
on the roads in late april & all of may.
We also have a large pond on our place, & it's just full of snappers
painteds, & red-eared sliders.
