I got a baby Herman's yesterday after doing plenty of research regarding diet...Im still confused! There is soo much conflicting information out there Im not sure what to go with....can she eat carrot...can she eat tomatoes...is it ok to give fruit or not??? Please help!!!

Also some peeps say its good to give lettuce while others say not....
Iceberg lettuce is a NO NO. Romaine is OK occasionally. Dandelion leaves are great as are other weeds. Fruit is not necessary and could be harmful. Mine loves "spring mix" from the grocery store but as more weeds begin to grow I will feed those also. I dust a phosphorus free calcium powder lightly over the greens. I don't know about tomato but wouldn't feed it to mine. They come from dry grassy areas, no tomatoes or fruit grow there.

Good luck with your new tort

Ok...no Iceberg...I tried my tort with dandelions today and she didnt seem too keen??

So cabbage and leafy greens should be ok then??

Anyone know of a good website I can get a list of suitable weeds from??

Thankyou...
Don't know about the cabbage...Romaine lettuce is ok as well as other leafy greens. Someone should know a good list of edible greens. I don't remember where I saw it.
