Hi there
I was just wondering what type/make of UV bulb people are using for their greeks?
I'm using an Arcadia Compact D3 Reptile Lamp but I'm wondering whether that's really the best option.
Any tips or advice most welcomeBig Grin
thanks

Nancy I am currently using a 100 watt T-Rex MVB and will be replacing them with the Mega Ray MVB this winter. this combines heat and UVB in one bulb thus less expense especially if you have many inside pens. during the summer Everybody is sent outside to enjoy the natural sunshine, which also helps with the Electric bill.
Here are some sites for comparisons

I use the megaray 100w combined UV/Heat and can highly recommend it Smile
Thanks - i didn't realise there were combined UV/heat bulbs available.
Presumably though that means that if you were using it on a thermostat and the heat gets too high that the UV also switches off? Is that right?
Yep. I don't have mine on a thermostat for that reason. I place the bulb and check the temp. set it for the optimal temp by raising or lowering the bulb. then it is on a timer only so it is on 10 to 12 hours a day. Once a MVB is turned off you should wait at least 15 minutes to turn it back on. So a thermostat or rheostat does not really work.

ah ok!
I will certainly look into these then. My current set-up works ok I think but it is a bit of a pain to have so many bulbs, reflectors and holders so I like the idea of having a combined one. Thanks Smile
