I've just bought my first pair of tortoises today, and while I know that they are probably male and female (because of the shell-butting and leg-biting)I am unaware of the species. I think it might be a mediterannean spur-thighed tortoise but I can't be sure can anyone clarify for me.Thanks.
It looks like a Testudo to me but a few better pictures would make it much easier to determine what kind. A pics of its belly, from the back and straight down onto the top of its shell would help.
Thanks, I'll have to post the pics us tomorrow when they're awake and moving around. But i'll do it soon.
Looks possible T g ibera so far.

Here are more pictures.
That is a male T.g.ibera Big Grin Can you post the same pictures of your other tortoise. That way we can give a go at sexing and telling subspecies of your other tortoise. Big Grin

I've got more pictures of the two of them. Apologies for the blurring on some of the pictures. I think that one of them is female because the male keeps biting her legs and trying to ram it. Although it could be a dominant male, any thoughts?
I think you have two males that are fighting. Sorry.
You have 2 male T.g.ibera.
