Well I picked up my lumber to get started on my outside pens this past week so Dan and I took most of today to work on them. I still need to pick up a few more 2x12s to finish the last group of pens but we completed two today and I got a ton of seeds broadcast plus the Redfoots and the Hermanns got to take a test drive of their pens for the day.

Getting started....Redfoots will have the largest pen in the middle, which will get the most shade. There is a small bush that leans across the ground and runs for about 5ft that will make some nice shade for them once it fills out this year. The back half of all of the pens will be covered by the canopy once the leaves are back on the trees as well.

Doesn't it feel great to get pens done!?! Looking good!
Looking good, are you planning on putting covers over the tops??
AWESOME! Looks great! I need to start mine up soon, too!
No covers, they will just have to be put up each night once temps are warm enough for them to stay in full time.
