hey
I am thinking about buying a tortoise, I would like a small one. I have been wondring what is the size diffence between a russian one and a egyptian one?
Which one do you think are better for a frist time buyer?
also do u know wat the price range is for them?
(sorry about the loads of questions)
thanks
Amy
Amy, Russians are less expensive than Greeks, (egyptian) and I believe a little easier to take care of than an Egyptian. I suggest you do research on both types of torts, where they come from what their natural habitat is etc. they are a long, long term investment (time and money) Do you have a good reptile vet one that hopefully specializes in torts near you?
Just some things to think about not to talk you out of one. But the better informed you are the better care you can give your shelled baby. You might want to look into adoption also. where are you located?
Here are a few sites to check out.

I second what Robyn said. Russians are small and have fun personalities! Plus, you can ususally find them pretty easily.
