I just wait for my tortoise to wake up. It's a bit like humans I suppose, they wake up when they're ready
My Marginated is a lazy bum! His lights come on at 7 AM and sometimes he doesn't come out until after 9! Sometimes he hits the sack at 4, too, even though his lights stay on until 7:30 in the evening.
I worried about the same thing you are when I first got Sherman (4 weeks ago). Now I just let him do his thing. I think he needs an alarm clock!!!
Thanks for that. It just seems a shame with the change in weather we are having (West Midland) that she sleeps through the limited time she could be outside exploring. Oh well I just hang on in there and wait for her to appear.
IMO if she only had a small window for outside time, then I would wake her and take her outside.
