I've had my leopard for a month now, he's been eating well and sleeping a lot too. But today I noticed that he couldn't open his right eye, he kept wiping it with his arm. After taking a closer look he breathed bubbles out of his nose! Does this absolutely mean he has a RI???
Hi Nina,
It sounds like your Leopard has gotten a RI. You now need to bring him to a herp vet to have him looked at.
How are you keeping him? Temperatures, warm end, cool end, under basking lamp and night time. What do you have for lights and how long are they on for?

Danny
HI DANNY , THANKYOU FOR GETTING BACK TO ME. ON THE WARM END IT IS BETWEEN 80 TO 90, THE COOL SIDE 70 -75. WE HAVE A UV LAMP THAT IS 8.0 AND A 125W HEAT LAMP ABOVE HIM THAT ARE BOTH ON FROM ABOUT 8AM TO 11PM AND AT NIGHT, HE HAS A MOONLIGHT THAT IS 75W ON TILL MORNING. WE HAVE BEEN USING BERMUDA AND ORCHARD GRASS AS A SUBSTRATE, THIS I WORRY ABOUT AND WANT TO CHANGE BECAUSE IT IS DRY. I SPRAY IT DOWN A COUPLE OF TIMES A WEEK FOR SOME MOISTURE. WE GIVE HIM A BATH IN LUKE WARM WATER A COUPLE TIMES A WEEK AND LET HIM SOAK THERE FOR 10 TO 15 MIN. HE SEEMS TO HAVE AN APPETITE AND SLEEPS A LOT TOO. WE WANT TO BRING HIM TO A VET BUT THERE ISN'T ONE VERY CLOSE AND I WORK ALL WEEK SO IT IS GOING TO BE TOUGH. WHAT ARE THE FEES USUALLY LIKE? AND WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND? ANY ADVICE?

So does one of those seem to be going to work for you?
Hi Nina,
Your temperatures are good. Big Grin You can change the substrate to organic soil and play sand in a 70/30 soil to sand mix. The lower layers you can keep damp and that will raise the humidity a bit in the enclosure.
Just two questions Big Grin What is a moonlight? and what kind of light does it give off?

Danny
Moonlight is purpilish dark bulb that keeps the tank warm and isn't bright.
Jacqui, that 2nd link you gave me was close, thank you
I think I've seen them. Big Grin I'm not a big fan of any kind of light at night. You might want to look into a ceramic heat emitter instead of the bulb. This is a ceramic bulb that screws into a regular socket and just gives off heat with no light.
