it'll run around and eat the greens for about half an hour after being soaked in warm water. the rest of the time it stays in the shell and closes its eyes.

is it normal?

Have you lower the temperatures in his/her enclosure yet?

yes. cool side is now 78-80 and hot side is only 85-90.
