I have 2 of the Eastern race Hermanns. i think it's the east. Or is it West? the yellow and black guys. They look really cool. They're both males and love to harass the piss out of each other so i had to seperate them. I'll get some pics up soon.

How big are your torts and how old are they? Are they well tempered?

The Western race is a little harder to find and alot more expensive.

My job for this weekend is to get pics of all my guys.
My 2 Hermanns are good boys on there own. When they're together, they get nasty

Thats because there proably fighting for a female stronger one gets the female(I think they do that even even if there is no female around.Cant wait to see pics!!!

to tell if theyre hermanns and stuff, its best we get photos.
and to varify theyre males we need a picture of their tails.
And the varify which subspecies (THH or THB) we need a picture of their plastron (underneat shell)

Theyre absolutely BEAUTIFUL! seriously.
They have a slight form of Pyramiding, but nothing majorly BAD.

How large are they?

Just a tip on your enclosure: find some large smooth-ish rocks, and big pebble-like rocks and scatter them around the enclosure, fine some big branches, some large bark pop it all in as they LOVE TO CLIMB. seriously theyre funny to watch.
Also, boil the objects in hot water before adding to enclosure (do not use anything but clean water!)

Also, add some plants such as pansy, hosta, buddleia, fuschias, hebes, petunias and grassy plants (hard patio grass plants work brilliant).

Is this their outdoor or indoor enclosure?
if its indoor they need a uvb light and basking light.

If its outdoor, make sure its warm in the day.

ALSO - whatever weeds grow leave them in their, however only leave the list below:
Vetch
Sowthistle
Global Thistle
Dandelion
Clover
Plantain
Dead nettle
Garlic mustard weed
Buddleia (butterfly weed/plant)
bittercress
hedge mustard
or hawksbeard/hawkbit

If its none of the listed above then pull it out.

It's outdoor. Here in Sand Diego, it stays really warm if not hot as hell. I think i may tell the wife to get a couple more Hibiscus plants to put in their enclosures. They definitly can climb! One of them has been flipping himself lately on a small flat rock (not pictured). He likes to climb but must not be very good at it.
These were purchased at a pet store by a friend for my birthday. They are about 5" long and have been sinxce I got them 3 yeras ago. I have no back history on them at all.

Theyre beautiful!
My youngest is not good at climbing, but my eldest daisy is very good.
They're amazing tortoises i myself must say! theyre one of the best ive had.
Although id love a Leopard or a Horsefield.
I can keep a horsefield but got no money right now.
And got no room for a leopard! and not that experianced.
