Breeding size

At what size do redfoots normally start breeding, especially females. What size should a female be before she is ready to breed?

RE: Breeding size

one last question, danny, even though this doesn't have to do with breeding... indoor space for the winter (figure a good nine months of the year here in WI LOL!)... how much square footage per young RF (5-8 inchers)... when i can house the four of them together, how big should the it be (assuming they'll have much more room outside in the summer)?

RE: Breeding size

4' X 8' would be the best size Kelly and that will accomadate them into adulthood. Big Grin

RE: Breeding size

He is at least 10", I actually told you about him a couple of weeks ago. I was talking to them today in email and asked if he was still available so I figured you decided not to get him when they said yes. He is from the folks at Reptile Eats. They have had him for a while I guess. He looks pretty good, nice smooth shell. Im waiting on plastron and face pics. Big Grin I havent even told Dan I bought him yet. lol I asked him what he thought and he laughed at me because I mentioned selling these two to you just a couple of days ago. He reminded me it would be nice for the torts to bring a little $$ back in via hatchlings with as much as I spend on them. Wink I figure I will just wait until he arrives and then tell him. lol

RE: Breeding size

Great! I'm glad you got him! I got your email but didn't know if I should get such a large male since most of my girlies are still little. Didn't want him hitting the hormonal age before them and driving them batty!!! LOL! So if you ever see a little male up (5-6 inches, maybe 7) let me know!

I think Terry said he had an 8" female lay eggs...??? So you might get lucky with your big'un sooner than later! (Fingers crossed!)
