Cuttlebone gone in one week

I gave Percy a cuttlebone, and he ate it in one week.

Actually, he ate most of it last night. He soaked it in his water dish and then ate it all up.

Isn't that kind of overdoing it? He has pyramiding, so some of you had told me to be careful of his calcium intake. I'm a little worried.

I hadn't given him calcium in about a week because he had been outside everyday and I kept forgetting to get a cuttlebone - so maybe he was really calcium deprived??

Also, the cuttlebone I got is one for birds - they are the same thing you give to torts right? I guess I should have made sure of that before he ate a whole one in a day.

Thats perfectly fine Big Grin He just needs another one now. Rolleyes It is the same one you give birds. When a tortoise is growing you can never over do the calcium.
