Holly, don't know for sure but I think I would take them back to the vet sounds like a bad reaction to the meds to me.

How did you wash ears out? Bleeding from outer ear or inner ear (the ear canal) ? What are you cleaning ear with?

I have to wash my dogs ears out on a regular basis to prevent ear infections, I have never had them bleed from it.

Ask your vet about getting them elizabethan collars. I raise chinese cresteds and we have train their ears to stand upright and this is what I use prevent them from removing the tape.

Try using cotton balls or soft gauze to clean the ears. I would think the paper towels would be rough on the healing ears. Just make sure you don't drop a cotton ball in the ear.

Holly if you look on the internet or if there is a petco or petsmart near you they carry the elizabethan collars. They also have blow up collars for them that do the same thing. Not sure of the price. But worth a look.
