If you have a breeding group... and then you want to breed the offspring... how do you ensure that you don't breed related offspring. I mean, if you have a handful of females with a couple of males... you can be sure to not breed from the same female easily enough, but since you really wouldn't know which male was the father, well... what then? Or is that not an issue??? or do you not even risk it?

I've asked and been asked that same Q? a number of times!

I'll give the same answer I got:
"I'm sure it happens all of the time in the wild".

And it's done all of the time with snakes.. [ wether it's right or wrong ].

Of course it takes 6 - 8 YEARS MINIMUM for a tortoise to mature.

You can breed straight siblings together for at least 1 generation Kelly. It's better if you can set-up another group with the different female's offspring (females) and get an unrelated CB male for the new group.
Though you would have no problems breeding the different females offspring together, even if they all had the same father.
