RE: hi all, a little help please

Hey Shaun, im a UK resident too, from coventry, warwickshire area.

You can feed him a wide range of weeds from the garden such as dandelion, chickweed, clover, plantain etc.
Aswell as flowers and stuff such as Petunia, pansy, hebe, fuschia, aloe vera.
And various leafy veggies such as Collard greens, turnip greens, carrots, salad mixes, spring greens and cucumber.

However do not feed these veggies daily.

As for enclosure, if you have a B&Q near you, travel there buy some plywood, and pond liner to stop the wood from rotting.
Since your baby G.G is tiny, you can build the sides to about 1.5 foot tall, build it as big as you can but the most needed for such a single tiny G.G is up to 3 foot long, 1.5 foot high and about 2 foot wide.

=] this should do the lil fella for a good few years since he wont grow much within the next 2 years.

OR just go out and buy a indoor rabbit cage thats 3+ foot long.
They doo fantastic for such small tortoises.
I have one that is 3 foot long, nearly 2 foot wide and about 1.5 foot tall.
These are great because you can hang your lights through the bars, and if you wanted you could make mini hanging baskets and hook them to the side too add some greenary!

You could go to http://www.petco.com and purchase them there, or you might be able to get one from a local shop by you. Where did you get your tortoise? Do they bulbs there? Just a suggestion.

RE: hi all, a little help please

If you live in a rather cold damp area you can use a CERAMIC INFRARED HEAT EMITTER- These heat up like a basking bulb but produce no light. I used one on my greeks, Day and night during last winter and a UVB bulb during the day. Greeks have specific amounts of uvb light they need I have listed 4 sites for you to read up on some information. I have 2 adult Greeks and they have completely stolden my heart. Good luck and take care of that baby.

RE: hi all, a little help please

Here is a few UK stores that sell turtles, so I am sure they have the lights as well.
Aquatic World in Cardiff, Blagdon water gardens, international pet supplys, http://www.terrapintank.co.uk/index.php, The aquastore in weston-super-mare, tropicalfishworld, http://www.southcoastexotics.com/chelonia.htm - Portsmouth, http://www.exoticpetscumbria.co.uk - Carlisle, http://www.exotic-pets.co.uk - Chesterfield, http://www.dragonreptiles.co.uk/ - Wales,
I of course have never used these places since I am not in the UK but on another forum they have a list going of places to go in the UK. Good Luck in your search. Your tort should be fine until this weekend without the bulb, but if you have time take it outside for some real sun.

A mega ray bulb does both. I have been told they are great. I will have to find the website for you and me.
