How 'wet' should a healthy eye be

Hello,

I am just wondering how 'wet' a healthy eye should be. Yesterday I noticed that my hatchling (born mid Oct 07) had a wet eye - a little bit like he has been crying. He only has one eye so I cant compare to the other one! Other than that his eye seems shiney and opens well. He looks healthy with no discharge from nose. 'Wetness' from eye does not look sticky. He is on 50:50 top soil / play sand substrate, has uv/heat lamp 32C. Do you think this could be early indication of a problem. My other baby just seems to have a small collection of fluid at bottom of each eye. I think this is normal, but now am a bit worried.

Regards

Laura

It shouldn't be drippy wet Laura. It's possible he could have gotten something stuck in it. You can rinse his eye out with artifical tears, great to have around for just such an occurance.
Can you post pictures of both of their eyes, that would help. Big Grin
