Welcome Kay! My whole family is from Missouri! My moms gggrandparents, gparents, and parents are from Applecreek. My dads side comes from Rolla. Over the years they have all spread out to St. Genevieve, Carthage, St. Louis, Festus, and Osage Beach. Dad joined the military at age 18 and he and my mom traveled the world (I was born in Germany). Once again welcome. You will learn a lot here!

Hey! Carthage is where I'm at!!!!! Well just out side actually.
We live on an 80 acre farm. We raise Blk Angus cattle. Sm
herd about 27 cow/calf prs. Who do ya have in C town?
It really is a small world.....after all.LOL
Well, I've never heard of Applecreek, Osage Beach is a great place!

Wow!! Carthage huh? My great aunt lives there, Maxine Clevenger. Her husband, Harley, passed away some years back. My grandfather is buried in Carthage. He passed away in 1992, which is the last time I was there.

Applecreek was a German immigrant town near Cape Girardeau. My mom's family settled there in the 1800s I believe. They had their own German regiment that fought in the Civil War, in fact both of my gggrandfathers fought in that regimentBig Grin.

Ahh! Carolyn. I know where Cape Girardeau is! My husbands mothers family came from Germany, and my sister-in-law is German.
But no history such as yours!!!

Kelly. My grandaughter lives in Farmington! I have a friend in Tonitown.
Maybe some time when my son comes to pick up Mal for a visit,
I can talk him into coming on into Fayetville for a visit. I would
love to see your torts and how you keep them!

Woops! Kelly forgot to reply about the breeder. No not a David. Her name is Debbie Galbreth.
Shes not on the net much...I don't think. She did however, sell her last yrs. hatchlings on line
for $89.00! Wish she had let me know! I soo want to see some just hatched torts! Would also
be interested to see how she keeps her RFs.

I bought three of her RFs last year and they are good quality. She raises them up on "pasture" outside and they eat like little pigs. I recommend her.

Jen, where are you located? The 3 toed & ornate box turtles are native to us here in Mo.:-)
My hubby & I discuss the fact that some we pick up off the road(we brake for turtles!)
are crosses.
