what type of plants should i plant in my sullys box? he wont be coming to me for a while so this will let me go a little wild with his box before he gets to his new home. should i leave the plants in the pots or could i just straight plant them in the box? it will be a long sweater box. i know sully like dandelions, and there are plenty growing in Oklahoma so no problem there, but what else could i plant?

clover and prickly pear cactus might be some other good plants to have growing before your tortoise arrives.

If this is outside enclosure I'd go with native grasses, such bluestem, grama grass and buffalo grass and native forbs such as coneflowers and coreopsis. They take grazing well (growing with buffalo had to). Native prickly pear (the wild ones in Ok ) are excellant tort food.

If you plant them in the sweater box make sure you also include a plant bulb for uva as that is the type of light plants need. also if you plant them in pots you can change them out when they get tired or eaten. Just make sure your little one can get to them.

My guy LOVES to graze on burmuda grass.. Its hardy and forgiving, easy to grow, but hard to get rid of once established outdoors...
