RE: russian babies?
It really isn't advisable to combine the two, no matter how short the period of time. Each species carries their own natural flora of bacteria, protozoans and such. To combine them for even a short time gives these flora a chance to infect the other and vice versa, and could lead to illness in your torts. Hope that helped

RE: russian babies?
Russian babies just aren't as cute as most other types of tort hatchlings, are they?
I CANT WAIT TIL I HAVE SOME OF THEM, ANYWAY! (Come on, girls, get to layin'!)

Hurley has been GUNG HO about it STILL - so he's been going at it for a month now! So I'd say there's a fair chance that SOMEONE should produce before too long!

RE: russian babies?
Kelly, I can't wait either, and all shelled babies are cute. Hey maybe yours are just conspiring together until you put them in the outside enclosure. That way they can lay and you won't know it. That's what my Greeks did and look what it got me, Comet. But a word of CAUTION, once they go outside, be careful where you step in their enclosure, there could be a baby just under foot.
Robyn
Torts are my calming factor! Then we had eggs!
All Greeks, adults (Echo, Ajax, Rusty ), + Comet Still a hatchling & three new Greek hatchlings as of 3-24-08 (Dotsy, LB and DB) + 2 new eggs on 4-20-08, 2 dogs, Fostering 2 DT
