RE: is this good Substrates for my redfoot, and good for keep humity

NEVER remove the poop! Since redfoots "digest" their food so quickly they need to re-cycle it so they can get the most from the nutrients in their food. They need to eat their own poop!

You should never have any food left over.. if you do you're offering too much to begin with! One of.. if not the biggest mistake that tortoises keepers make is over-feeding! It looks like pyramiding.. but it's not. When space occurs between the carapace scutes.. that's over-feeding

The moss I prescribe for hatchlings/yearlings is good forever.. nothing will grow in it or on it.. http://www.mosserlee.com/products/lfsm.html

Are we learning anything?

Didn't see the 'poop' thing on the webpage, but it's nice to know you can get the sphagnum moss at Lowe's. Good info.

You'll find it here.. http://redfoots.com/smf/index.php?topic=726.0
[ I need to mention that - RC - has always been trying to "improve" on the system that has already been proven to work.. so I've had to get "real" with him recently - ignore that.. it was just him. ]

I have to encourage redfoot keepers to read and follow all of the links in my signature. I was a 'newbie' at one time too.. still am at times!

Good thread.. keep asking!
