thats the one thing I don't know that I should find out. I might try to find a scale at target or something.

I'm thinking about getting a buddy for her. Will if be fine if It is a guy? Or will I have to separate males and females?

Go with the info here...it will serve you wellBig Grin

From what I've read they are really a solitary animal and a 'friend' can be very stressful...
In the wild males have an area all to themselves...hard to duplicate in captivity...
that said a lot of folks here have groups that are quite happy.

Through all of my Russian experiences, they really DO enjoy having a buddy (contrary to popular belief) and if she's a female, then it doesn't matter what gender you put with her, although generally they say 2 girls to one guy...if you get a male, make sure he's not much bigger than her because he'll likely be reading for some mating well before her, and that could stress her out...

I got my (postal) scale at Walmart for $20. It weighs in grams.

I am not an expert but have done the research, my guess is a female, because the males tend to have much longer tales. It is obvious with my tortoise, not only do he have a long tail, but when I soak him and observe what he is doing, sometimes his little boy part contracts out.
