when eggs go rotten...
this may seem like a "DUH!" question, but what do they look like when they go rotten.
I think the first two (laid Jan. 2) are going rotten - but they look different from one another so I don't want to take them out until I know for sure. --Kelly-- 4 Russians, 1 Hermann's, 3 Leopards 15 Bearded Dragons (including rescues) + 30 babies Golden Lotus Dragons - http://www.goldenlotusdragons.com |

RE: when eggs go rotten...
i can try to get pics later today. one of them, if you candle it, you can see "liquid" sloshing around inside, this one is starting to look greyish (on the inside). the other one just has a reddish mark growing on the outside of the shell.

RE: when eggs go rotten...
My first group of Yellowfoot eggs (5) in the incubator looked very rotten. At 5 months in the incubator they smelled way bad and were black. But my motto is, "don't ever toss an egg until it calapses or explodes." So I left the eggs alone. After a bit, three of
them hatched. I swear, folks...these eggs looked and smelled rotten!! Just goes to show, you just can't tell. Wait and see. Yvonne Clovis Turtle & Tortoise Rescue http://clovisturtlerescue.tripod.com/ Past President Brotogeris Society International http://brotosociety.org/ |

RE: when eggs go rotten...
It's never fun
Now you know the joys of incubating eggs Kelly I've only had it happen twice to me. One time when I was in the room. It's actually very loud when it expoldes and the sulphur smell is lovely. To get rid of the smell Kelly you will have to take all the other eggs out and put them in some new sand. Clean out the incubator then put in new sand and the eggs. Danny |

Sorry Kelly, that had to be N A S T Y are you planning on tossing the other before it explodes or letting nature take its course and chance another explosion?
