RE: Iowa Redfoots
No, not everyone. Opuntia (Opie) is named. He is in top right. Dog got him and his shell pretty scared but he is tough as a prickly pear, so the name. His is one the firsts to the food bowl and all over the enclosure.

They are sweet, love your meauring mat. Thanks for the idea. I'll have to pull mine out and put it to some use since I haven't quilted in awhile.

RE: Iowa Redfoots
Both rescues came from a local petshop. The owner realizes he is not setup to support these guys and the public won't pay his price for rfs anyway when they can buy rts for $80 from chains, so when comes in he lets me know. I've been working him for over 10 years. The mat is for record keeping.

RE: Iowa Redfoots
I guess it depends on the market. The only rf I've seen in the chain stores was about 5 years ago ($150), it was in poor shape when the got from the home office and they were forbidden to seek vet care and just to follow the size fits all caresheet. I don't know whatever happened to it.

RE: Iowa Redfoots
there are currently two at a ps here, and i so am eyeing one of them... a big girl, mebbe 7 inches, the ROUNDest rf i've ever seen. really perfect shell tho!
But of course I'm trying NOT to, you know, being on my "no more torts" thing (aside from HOPEFULLY finding something cool at the April 5 Reptile show I'm going to in Chicago!) --Kelly-- 4 Russians, 1 Hermann's, 3 Leopards 16 Bearded Dragons (including rescues) + 15 babies and 16 more incubating! RE: Iowa Redfoots
I've seen her too. Good looking girl but I've got 6 burmese blacks coming and 4 spotted coming and no room for more torts. Not that I wasn't tempted.
