RE: What subspecies is this?

That was the old subspecies name for the Western Hermanns Paula.
Someone in the 80's revisited the holotype of the subspecies, which I think is in a museum in France. It had been thought to be an Eastern Hermanns (which at the time was T. hermanni hermanni).
It was found out to be a Western Hermanns, so the Western Hermanns had to have the name T. hermanni hermanni. The next oldest valid subspecies name for Eastern Hermanns was boettgeri.

By the way, that animal advertised on kingsnake is NOT a western...I sent a kind e-mail we'll see if anything is done about it. Unfortunatley someone will most likely buy it thinking it is a western.
