yawning?

i bought my first tortoise about 5 days ago and i am certain that i have caught him yawning... do they yawn or could he be doing something else?

Hi Rosiee,
I got my first yesterday and Im sure she yawned this morning!! I would be interested to know the answer to this also...

Yep, they yawn, some more than others, and isn't it the cutest thing in the world?!?! I've figured out that the cutest of cutust is a double yawn followed by a huge shy, coming from a hatchling! MELT MY HEART!

At 6:30 this morning, before the mega-ray light was even on, Zoe came out of her hide and gave a big yawn! She gets up every day by 6:30 AM and goes to bed at 5:30 PM.
