Does anyone suffer from any type of auto- immune disease? Curious...having some health issues lately and deciding if I should see a rheumatologist, dermatologist, or an allergist??? I have Meniers Disease which is supposedly related to an autoimmune disease? I've had major issues with vertigo, hearing loss, pressure in the ears, other stuff too, and it's been so bad that I've missed a lot of work this year, and in the past. However now I've been having skin issues and not sure what to do. I will post pictures only to individuals who know about autoimmune diseases or Meniers Disease. I've been to many Doctors and not much help at all since 2009...skin issues are very new. It's been a crappy year, I figured I'd ask here in the forum since there are so many member...Thanks!

Can't help at all, but just to wish you all the best with this.
I do know what it's like to be down 'cos of serious health issues.
Hope someone here can provide you with support.
Best of luck.

Thanks...I'd never really post about stuff like this but now I've been getting a bit worried and hoping to hear from others who or know of individuals. Thanks though:)

A friend of mine has Ménière's disease. I asked her and she says she doesn't know if it has anything to do with skin issues. She would start with the dermatologist.

Any new meds. being taken? Side effects of some meds. can be skin issues.
I'm not on any meds...did take steroids for a week, but already had skin flare ups prior to steroids. It got worse after steroids actually. Not sure if the steroids brought out whatever is trying to come out through my skin.

Have you tried an infectious disease specialist? Sometimes they have a better overall health view since they deal whole body rather than specialize in a single view.

Sorry you are having these problems. The only experience I have had with auto immune issues was my highly allergic dog. He had lots of allergies to food, outdoor & fleas. Even with those under control, the auto immune reactions werent good and prednisone wasnt real helpful. Sorry, no human expeirence ~

Thanks, no worries. It is what it is. I'm just kind of over at people looking at me like I'm disgusting...but on a good note my rash on my neck & face are nearly cleared up. Just my hands and arms are pretty gross looking :(

Thank you! Yes it's a long process of tests but all is good. My mom developed a blistery rash a few years ago that had turned out to be an autoimmune disease. It's tough because your immune system is attacking your skin like its a foreign object. Hope all goes well for you!
