I walked the entire neighborhood and both streets to the est and west...I don't see the damn thing ANYWHERE!Did it come from a tree?
Not a Mariposa...they have smooth petals....these have a ridged petal...similar to hibiscus! IT-3 ate one but no more! ALL the other torts have avoided them.Sure looks like a brand of mariposa lilly to me.....??? I too live in the high desert and have had them rarely show themselves here---usually a fire orange and not the yellow sunburst color...

WOW! Never took that into consideration! I saw those all over the place when I worked in San Diego...but NEVER took them for a desert dweller!
