Irwin is growing leaps and bounds. I weighed him on Sunday and he's 4.5lbs and 9 inches. He will be 2 in July/August. It's been very nice here so I've been letting him outside - but only when I'm home too. He gets to be outside on my lunch hour - and get's pretty grumpy when I bring him back in!
My question is when is a sully big enough to be able to stay outside all day? I would like to be able to let him stay outside while I"m at work. I don't plan on letting him stay overnight until he's bigger and I have his "house" ready.
Can anyone guide me on this?
Here's a few pics I took the last couple of days with Irwin enjoying the backyard.
OH - I have planted some tort seed in an area that he can get to and I have a couple of water dishes around the yard - which is fenced in with a wood privacy fence.IMG_4689.JPG IMG_4737.JPG

I don't think he's big enough yet to stay out all day without someone nearby. Plus that fence doesn't look Xscape proof to me

I let sulcatas stay outside all day long in nice weather once they reach 5 to 6 inches long. I then soak them on the way in, because my climate is very dry.

The enclosure does need to be secure, and a person has to know how safe their area is in regards to predators and dogs.

I leave my 8+ inch redfoots out unsupervised on days that are 70+ degrees, but I still worry about them since I am not there.

He stays out with me when I'm working in the yard - and hasn't tried to escape yet..... I'm working on an enclosure for him. I keep several water dishes around the yard for him. He has plenty of shade spots and vegetation to crawl into when he needs a break from the sun. It's not as dry here - central Kansas - and actually with all the rain we've been having it's been pretty humid....
Thanks for your opinion!
