What exact tool do you all use to measure humidity in your enclosure, and how would you rate it? Could you state where you got it from too?
ALSO. If I want to measure humidity, would it be a hydrometer, or a hygrometer? I've seen people use both words to explain the same thing.

You want a hygrometer to measure humidity. Hardware stores (that will depend on your country/state) and amazon are easy places to find them.

hydrometer; measure alcohol content if you are for instance brewing your own.
hygrometer; measure moisture levels of the environment.
Go to Home Depot or Lowe's to find a nice digital combo
thermometer/hygrometer, you can even find remote ones with a table top receiver unit to view from your livingroom recliner while watching Judge Judy.

Are you in the U.S or U.K?
The one I use looks like this and is ten bucks.
It's fantastic
Temp and humidity.
Are we correct in assuming you aren't wanting to measure specific gravity?

I've been using the SensorPush wireless thermometers/hygrometers. Uploads temps straight to your phone. They just came out with a WIFI connection so you can get readings from anywhere in the world with WIFI. Here's the link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...de=as2&tag=senso04-20&linkId=LM7OVT6565IWSBEF
Yet how "hackable" are they? My favorite are the wifi home thermostats that you can set for your house and they allow you to check/change the temperature of your home while you're away, only to learn an unknown "guest" has accessed your E-Home.

I picked up my wireless set from "RadioShack" a) before they stopped selling them b) before they went out of business.
These are/were great because you could have three(3) remotes sending to the same indoor station. I find them sometimes still available on eBay, but I can't think of what they are called right now and I'm not home. I do a check soon and I'll post a link for you…
Or as I said earlier, just go to HomeDepot and by a digital set there. Check the "transmission" distance on the packaging before buying it. You want distance not really looks. And use fresh, alkaline batteries while keeping the receipt incase it doesn't function properly…

I like these. Mechanism isn't INSIDE exposed to the high humidity....

Absolutely correct. Terminology and me don't often mix, so I get my words jumbled ALL THE TIME. What brand is it? I am in the US by the way.

AWESOME. And yeah, no alcohol for me, even though I am an Oregonian! I'm more into lounging around at Powell's and pretending I am reading.

Or you could use the one that I mentioned that has a probe on a wire that you stick inside the enclosure and the mechanism would not be exposed to humidity. ; )
