Introducing Timmy and me

Hi everyone. I live in the East Midlands in England and two years ago my wife and I welcomed Timmy into our home, as my wife's grandma could not look after him anymore. She had no paperwork for him but he is a hermanns we estimate to be around 12/13 years old. He lives outside when he is not hibernating and has the whole garden to call his own (it's not a very large garden). I love having him roaming around and could watch him for hours. I will be posting pictures of his "facilities" in due course as I am keen to get feedback and make improvements where I can but for now here is the little guy himself and a shot of him crossing the lawn last year, if you can see him.

Welcome! Timmy is very cute! Your yard looks like a tortoise paradise. I know exactly what you mean about watching him roam around. That is one of my favorite things about owning a tortoise too. I love seeing him out the window. Today I was out gardening and Charlie was keeping me company.

I know what you mean about watching them all day. Spring is the best time, in my opinion; they are so active.

Thanks Big Charlie there are plenty of hiding places for him in the garden and he keeps getting better at using them. I often have to search the whole garden 4/5 times to find him. And sometimes I don't succeed!

It amazes me how much character torts have. He used to spend ages climbing over this low garden edging we have, I'll have to try and find the video.
