P.s. I forgot to mention , I found if I soaked the Mazui first , then crushed it up over the weeds & grass , my tort developed a taste for it quickly.

After that I still soaked it, but she would go right after it when offered.

I actually just tried that this morning, and he seemed to eat most of it. I'm going to keep trying and hopefully it'll work out like it did for you!

Today is just under a month since I've had Albus now so I decided to weigh him.
When I got him, he was 156 grams, today he is 260grams. And here I was worried he hadn't grown hardly!

I don't normally bring him inside, but it was easier for me today to weigh and soak him in here.
He watched me cut up his breakfast with eager eyes the whole time!

He is so adorable! An Aldabra is my dream tort. I'll be getting one as soon as we get our house.

I remember when my CupCake just filled my hand like that. Very similar high dome too.

Just loved watching those gray grow lines widen, then thin & turn dark, just to widen again as she put on weight. CupCake seemed to grow between 7-11% / month for the first year.

Florida is such a good environment for them. There are only about 4 months she needs her heated hide. Right now in rainy season is when she puts on the most growth.

Hope you keep the updates & pics going here. We all learn from each other.

Aldabra's are such " Chunky Thighs". Certainly fits :)

I had to look up what your wrist cuff was for. And I love it!
And your tort is gorgeous!

Best wishes!

Thank you!
Yes the other side of the band says "never quit" which has become my life's motto.
I've lost a brother and several friends fighting for us overseas and like to wear stuff to support good causes.

God bless. I'm very very sorry for your losses and incredibly thankful to your family/friends who have passed protecting mine.

How much did albus cost?
I got him from Sam at Florida Iguana and tortoise.
His website is floridaiguana.com if you want to check it out. He has babies and yearlings and then even bigger ones. All at various prices.
Best part for me was I live near by so I drove down and picked Albus out myself!

He seems to be growing steady, but much smaller than other growth sizes at this age from what I read.
He eats food like it's going out of style, and eats several times through out the day, so I know he isn't going hungry. Guess he's just a smaller one.

At that age it's impossible to tell. Still very much a baby.
Do you know the approximate hatch date?

When I got my CupCake she was already 6-7 months old. So I missed some of the stages your going through.

She/ he is a cute little thing :)
