I'm calling out for help to my forum friends. I met Amanda Ebenhack on facebook. She runs a rescue for turtles and tortoises in Central Florida. This is what Irma has done to her Rescue property:FB_20170910_23_37_42_Saved_Picture.jpg

She houses a 356 lbs tortoise named Sammy in a shed. This storm tore off half of the roof and torrential rain is entering the shed. She's spending the night with him trying to keep him safe from drowning. She needs donations for this repair. Please look up her name and read her posts about her rescues and what she's experiencing tonight with Sammy. If you can donate funds, please contact her via facebook. Tell her I sent you. Thank you.

What about people who don't do FB? Does she have a paypal addy?
Yes she does. When I get her PayPal info, I'll post it. In the meantime, the site you looked up will provide info where individuals can contact direct. Thank you for caring.
Well, I checked what you posted, and there isn't any info on Amanda's book. I'll find out more and get back with you.

Thanks! Here place is a mess. She cares for an aldabra named Sammy. He weighs 356 lbs, and he's stress out over this hurricane. His shed was almost completely destroyed. Half the roof is gone, and rain was flooding the inside. She isn't doing well either with this whole mess. Thank you for taking an interest .

I found she just got electricity back today. Now, the hard work begins. I was hoping more from the forum would help out. Maybe not enough coverage of this post. ☹

Dunno; thread seems to have a catchy enough title.

Donated. Thx for bringing to our attention :)
Thank you. If others want to help Amanda Edenbach rebuild her turtle sanctuary, you can make donations to Turtle Rescue USA. There's a link to PayPal for donations. There's also another sanctuary in East Orlando that's demolished and in desperate need of repairs. It's called Second Chances Wildlife Sanctuary, and it's run by Jim Bronzo. He can be found on Facebook too. Both these rescues need help.
