Turtle got out and the dogs found him

Not sure how he got out but my wife found the dogs playing with him. I've had him roughly 6 years and never had a thing like this happen before. I see a few scratches on his shell but I don't see any puncture marks or anything like that. I washed him off and put him back in the tank and hes moving around fine. Is there anything I should do for him?

Sounds like you got lucky. Just pay close attention to him for the next few days. Most importantly, figure out how he escaped and prevent it from happening again. Canopies work well on aquariums or plexiglass around the edges.

You should probably give him a nice big shrimp dinner, with maybe a few guppies as an appetizer. Then tell him your sorry, and reassure him that you won't let it happen again.
