Marginated still not eaten after 14 days of having him. Offered fresh weeds daily, tried bathing daily mornings still nothing. Have lost 2 grams weight is this normal?

Hello and welcome to the forum.
It may be that your tortoise wants to hibernate and that she needs time to settle in, but to help you we need more informations as @WendyProulx has already said.
Temps: basking spot, warm side and cold side. Night temps ?
Light ? What bulbs are you using ?
Humidity ? How much ?
Pics of he tort and the enclosure will be necessary to help you and your tort.

We ask because there are a few factors that would cause a tortoise to not eat...Including not being able to digest anything that was eaten previously because of temperature, etc.

Just to update everyone, Craig's tortoise is a 2016 yearling.

Craig: I would start soaking this baby in Gerber strained carrot baby food. In a small bowl that he can't climb out of mix warm water half and half with strained carrots and leave him soaking in there for at least a half hour. . . longer is even better. You can place the bowl back into his enclosure NEXT to but not directly under the light so it stays warm. Check on him frequently to make sure he hasn't tipped over. I generally notice improvement in about 3 days.

I think you're not offering this baby foods he recognizes. Can you contact the person you got him from and find out how he fed the babies? Otherwise, here's the kinds of foods I would be offering:

red or green leaf lettuce, endive, escarole, romaine, turnip greens, in fact, any dark leafy greens you find in the produce section at the store. Spring mix is ok but it has an awful lot of spinach in it and spinach binds calcium so the calcium gets pooped out with the waste. Once you get him eating this nice, wet grocery store greens, you can start adding more fiber - a tiny bit at a time - your weeds, etc.

Please post pics of your tort and his enclosure. This would enable us to help you and give you advise more easily.

Is he warm enough? Torts tend to lose appetite in Winter.

And a very warm welcome to the forum!

Hi guys sorry for late reply.

Have a table set up being around 32/33c under lamp with laser temp gun and 20/21c cool end.

on coco fibre substrate. have tried contacting the previous owner but no help and just says was fine on leaves there however when i collected was in a vivarium with pellets as substrate.

The poor sod keeps going into the corner and sleeping all day however yesterday i thought would only put 2 items of leaves in and one went missing completely which im assuming he consumed at some point.

I have a combi bulb but have had suggestion to maybe add uvb strip light as well to increase lighting is this right?

Thanks for the welcome guys :)

Depending on the combination bulb you described, some have been associated with blindness or discomfort.
What type of bulb is it?
Is it away from the area where your tortoise retreats?

bit concerning if that is the case. Its a d3 combi bulb arcadia 100w. The tortoise goes in the corner down the same end where light is but its not directly under it

Soak in warm water with glucose liquid for couple hours. keep warm. Feed some banana (that's their favorite food). It will be OK. When i had my baby magie, he looks like dying and recovered with my above procedure.
