To all you successful G. Platynota breeders, how many eggs, on average, are you getting from each female? In how many clutches? Thanks in advance. Trying to get a more accurate idea of averages than individual articles.

Sorry bud. I missed this. My biggest female did 54 eggs in 2016 and 32 last year but I attribute that to the move. Others have done between 20 and 30 for me.

This is my first year getting eggs. My females are 3300-3900 grams. They lay in winter, so I don't know when they will stop. So far I have 9 clutches from 5 females. One female hasn't laid yet, and one female just dropped her first eggs a couple of weeks ago. Clutches have been mostly 8. One was 7 and one was 12. I'm not at home to check, but I think last count was 72 eggs so far. Who knows if any will hatch this time around.

sorry Kevin crazy week!!! Most females average around 20 eggs per year , mine are very young around 8-10 years , and the larger females lay around 10 eggs per clutch.

Kevin. Not ignoring you, but my females are still separated from my males getting more size. So no eggs yet. I am just finalizing an indoor enclosure with egg laying areas, so may put my two largest females in their with my largest males. The females are over 3000g now.

Haha. Thanks Mark. Just being facetious. Sounds exciting. Looking forward to watching you go through the process. Refreshing egg laying areas in my outdoor pens soon as well.
