My issue is I don’t have enough on her hide for her to burrow. I have to order more but it’s 85.00 for four bags because of shipping. I’m going to order more next month.

I soak for 20 minutes. I’ll try longer usually she’s trying to climb out after 20 though. I start get the water to 93, I’ll start adding warm water to keep it around that temp and try longer. She’s gained 200 grams since 10/18 so I’m doing something right I guess [emoji3]

That is good weight gain for that amount of time.

Don't worry if the tortoise starts trying to climb out. Let him exercise. Its good for them.

I also had a question about a CHE. What lamp can you guys use for it? They said i should use the wire cage clamp by zoomed beacuase they che get really hot and it might melt the dome ones.

I just use the regular metal dome one, just make sure the socket that you screw it into is a ceramic one. The plastic ones will melt. The pet store by me wanted a 20 or 30 bucks for the wire one you are describing. I think mine was 11 or $12 at the hardware store.

Would you guys recommend using it with a dimmer? I need to set up 2 in my enclosure already have one. Planning on getting one with a dimmer.

I actually just started building my closed chamber this week end, and just purchased a thermostat for my two che's I will be running in it. I bought a zilla thousand watt, I read some fairly decent reviews on it. Not sure if a thermostat is the exact same as a dimmer, but I got this one on eBay for a little over 20 bucks. I don't think it has all the bells and whistles as a more expensive one, but from what I have read people seem to have decent results with it. I think it would do a good job helping you regulate your ambient air temperature, and help you regulate your night time low temp.
