I think from the way things were explained to me, the mesh is mainly used as an extra precaution to help secure the area so the stitches can actually hold and allow the skin to fully heal together. Based on these pictures, it looks like it should hold this time. We are taking every precaution with his recovery and following the vets instructions without exception.
