Hello,
I am new to the forum, but not new to having a tortoise. I sadly and unsuccessfully tired to raise a baby Leopard tortoise three years back and did EVERYTHING wrong and it pasted away after two months.
I AM the perfect example of someone buying a tortoise on a whim and having NO IDEA of what I was doing.
So I have spent the last couple of years doing research here and there and regaining the will to try another tortoise.
So I purchased two baby sulcatas last month. And even tho I have already use this forum a couple times to ask questions. I feel much more prepared for the baby sulcata challenges that lay ahead. I am SO THANKFUL to have this forum as a place of comfort that I can come to if I have any questions. I have loved Tortoises since I was a little girl. My husband knows these baby sulcata's are fulfilling a bucket list dream for me. But I have sat down and discussed in length what all will need to be done with in a two year period to our back yard and to their inside tortoise table. To be able to raise them appropriately. I KNOW now that a tortoise is not a pet you can throw in a fish tank and feed roman lettuce to, but a HUGE commitment. A well worth one! (especially Sulcata's!) So I thank this forum for existing and I hope anyone that stumbles along this forum can learn as much as I already have so that their tortoise can stay happy and healthy!
Kari
