Just rescued this little one from sean casey rescue. The jerks that had him left him in a plastic bin with water by a radiator. Taking home to his forever palace. Adding the 3rd level tomorrow for him. 8x3. Will update this weekend.

Poor guy! Was the entire tub filled with water, because they thought he was a turtle? His eyes make me think it’s a very good thing you rescued him in time.

Wow, usually even pet stores don't give that bad of information. I wonder how they thought that was a good idea.

His eyes are opened! Poor lil guy is very nervous. Keeps retreating into his shell. Just needs time to adjust. I will be setting him up in a 40 breeder for a day while I build his new home.

We settled on his name-Gideon. He is very shy and a small lil tort. He ate like a champ this morning on spring mix and shredded squash. Urates were good too. Drank well also. His new home is nearly complete. Just have to shorten the front panel, wifey a shorty lol.

Here is Gideon basking after his chow. Still quite shy but that is to be expected. Since he has not basked or gotten any uvb, bought the zoomed desert uvb/basking combo. I ordered the t8 desert light fixture from petmountain.com .Its a pet outlet online store. Reptile equipment is the cheapest from any store. Its cost 28.99

The enclosure you build for Gideon looks fine. He will surely settle in soon.
Thank you that you are giving this poor tort a wonderful home.

Pat down the substrate with your hand. It makes it easier for a little creature to walk on it.

Nice job.
