He looks bigger than a couple months old! How humid is his enclosure? Since your hand is also dry, can I assume you live in a very dry environment?

haha, I have VERY dry skin, and it gets worse in the winter. I live in illinois. Though its spring right now, its still snowing.

I try to keep Milo's enclosure as moist as possible by spraying water in his substrate
it gets around 85-95 degrees in his basking area and 70-75 cool side.

(pet store said he was about 6-8 months, how old do you think he is?)

I also read on other threads that they might be shedding their skin, but Milo's is cracking all around his eyes. He kinds looks like he has the flu.

If you got him from a pet store, he was wild caught and likely 5-15 years old, or older.

dang, i might have to ask them about that

I wouldn’t ask the pet store. They likely have no idea where he comes from or how old he is, nor do they know their care. They just sell what’s given to them, and try their best to guess the age.

Yeah, he’s no baby.

He looks like he’s just peeling to me; it’s normal. Tortoises shed in bits and pieces.

Since you bought him from someplace with bad advice, you should check the sticky pinned to the top of this forum on care of adult Russians. Likely you’ve got several things wrong, starting with a too small enclosure. Most of us started from the same place of wrong information so you’re not alone.
