Ilene, the three legged turtle passed away today. IDK why. She seemed to be getting better after she saw the vet.

We are so grateful to everyone who offered support for her care 2 years ago, and to everyone who followed her story. We tried our best to make her a happy and healthy turtle.

Thank you. No, she was younger than 20, and probably closer to age 8. The vet helped me guess.

What a great thing your vet offered to you. To understand why Ilene died would provide closure and be an opportunity for all of us to learn. But sometimes life still keeps it's mysteries.

Oh Colleen! I am so very sorry to hear that! You have been this little turtle girl’s Hero from the day you got her shipped to you. The way you had handled the shipping mix up and the horrible thing with her leg, stories I will never forget. You gave her a good life for those couple yrs I had her.
