thank you all . I enjoy keeping and seeing these guys , the weekend is really the only time I can tell who's eating and acting normal .........I was a bit concerned this spring . I brought this male wood turtle in 3 yrs ago , I had him a full summer and fall before I put him in with mine . he seemed healthy , he did quit eating a bit early , I figured it was because he was from florida and my October is way colder than what he was used to ...... he came out of his first winter really sick , the following fall another was sick , the following spring another ..... looks like that might be behind us now ......

yes Hutsie it certainly is "eating season" , very appropriate name for it ........

no Eric , everybody is separate ........ the male wood turtle is kept by himself , he's very cool , but a bit too much for anybody here ........ the baby box turtles are also by themselves ..

i would guess 20-30ish , one 6-7yrs old

was out today working on connecting the male wood turtles pen to the females pen , it's full on summer here now , took some pics , maybe someone would like to see them …….. not one of these guys doesn't see me ,you cannot sneak up on these guys , I must have been either real sneaky , or fast when I was a kid ….. I remember a huge softshell that used to sun on the same rock every day in the middle of the river . tried to catch him forever and never did

this guy only got three feet ……..way too friendly for his own good , probably why he has three feet …….

this guy had a run in with a dog a few years ago …. the dog didn't get in the pen , dug a hole near the fence it collapsed on the inside and any turtle that went out got gotten …...
