Hello Everyone, I am new to the forum.
I have a young possibly 2 years old Indian star. Her name is Valentine, but she could actually be he.

She is my little angel. I am worried that in the last 6 months she developed pyramiding, please see the photos.
Her length is about 10 cm.
Apart from pyramiding, she is very active and has a very good diet.
Basil, persimmon, cucumber, tomato, aubergine, kale, spinach, rocket, peppers, watermelon, melon, salad, leafy greens.
Maybe I am missing something.
Or maybe I should remove the light bulb, I have read somewhere that excessive light could cause pyramiding.
Maybe I should change her enclosure?

Your help appreciated.

Sophia

Lack of humidity also plays a big roll on pyramiding.

Unfortunately Valentine does have significant pyramiding going on. The good news is at only 2.3 inches she has a lot of growing still to do, which can be smooth and flat with the proper enclosure/humidity levels.

Please read the Indian star care guide in the sub-forum for southeast Asian tortoises. See the link below.

Also, please start a new thread in the sub forum with pictures of the current setup you have, what you feed etc... there are several extremely experienced star keepers that can help you immediately getting Valentine on the right track!

All my family we love her so much. Will post a new thread definitely to share how we keep her.
