I think there is much too much anger going around on this thread. I’m guessing this is a joke, because there was no response from this person, and how long could a sea turtle live in fresh water?
There's no anger, just desperation for the OP to do the right thing.
I agree though, I too think it's probably a hoax.
@jaizei can you figure out if this is a scammer.

No one is angry. Just displaying a sense of urgency because this is very serious.

Take the turtles to where you think they were taken from and let them go. Let Mother Nature take care of them or not. Your just going to give them a slow death. They are not fresh water turtles as you know, yet you have them in fresh water.
yep i am thinking the same and i am guessing there taken from the beahes of hawksbay ill be releasing them ASAP

I wouldn’t release them into the ocean. I would turn them into a wildlife organization. These turtles probably don’t have any diseases but they most likely have been near or exposed to other reptiles via directly or indirectly and as such can carry a pathogen which can harm the wild population.

I do not have ANY experience in this species....if you are keeping them for a short time and the goal is to keep them well and as healthy as you can in the interim, then I would be sure to offer them a place to keep warm, to bask and to consume food...as well as a safe night place to sleep....give yourself a break and just do your best until the "proper" people are are able to take over, right?

actually there are even kept in fresh water for starvation and infection treatment although there very hard creatures and can survive most of the changes and i think keeping a hatchling from the begging in the red eared slider enclosure wont be so alarming
