I think Opo might be on a spurt. He will graze for 1 hr and then continue eating everything I give him. Cant understand where he puts it all.

I think that every time they poop! [emoji23][emoji23] it’s crazy:))

What is that substrate? It looks less messy than my coco coir...

It’s cypress mulch... I tried the coco coir and the messiness was exactly why I quit using it. I even tried to layer it with the mulch on top. This works better for me... it holds moisture pretty well..

Ok because I also find it too messy so I’ve been trying to find another availlable substrate but I can’t find fir bark here and everyone says as long as it’s not a coniferous but fir is one coniferous so...Cypress mulch might be the solution, it’s however often full of colorants and it seems if gaïa where to eat this by accident it would be very bad because it’s so long and not digestible but I guess I’ll try it soon.

I use coco coir with cypress mulch on top. But I just ran out of cypress. When I went to home depot they don't sell 100% cypress anymore. It is called cypress mix and says it has other forest products in it. Reading further there is a label that says it doesn't confirm with pesticide laws. Noticed at Lowe's and Ace are selling the same product.

They sell it here completely natural like you saw in the picture. I have used it since my guys were very small and I’ve not had any trouble. It’s also very cheap! <$3. For a huge 50lb bag

I didn’t bring them home until the end of June but I was told their hatch date was 4/10.... I remembered ours were close but I didn’t know how close... I think [emoji16][emoji12]
