Here's my baby Castiel (Cass usually) and he's been with us since August 2018, hatched in June or July of 2018. He's very social and loves stomping around the yard when it's warm enough. We had a cold front and he's a bit grumpy to be inside, but he likes to make a little den on my lap or tummy after a bath, and he enjoys climbing his hill and sliding down the hide. Still working on humidity now that I know that it was too dry in his enclosure. 20190401_191806.jpg 20190307_155252.jpg 20190304_162417.jpg

I think that might be an old interpretation of the law. At one time it was against the law to have tortoises from Africa because of a tick they might be carrying. But it didn't apply to African tortoises born in the U.S., just African tortoises being imported. And then they stopped importing them, so the law was useless.
I don't know and I am not sure how to find out my husband has been online trying to find out and he can't seem to find out where, there is any law. A lady that I know at the pet store where i got to buy supplies for Chitty, told me she works for the state for rescuing Tortoises, she is the one that told me that if you get caught with one in this state there is a major fine and they will take it away from you!
