Is it safe for torts to help seal the corners, and how long does it need to air out for? Getting ready to build a new tort complex for our 5 lil ones next week.

I have not used flex seal. I have tried probably everything else over the years, though. I will say I can still recommend the Rustoleum countertop paint. I have been talking about it for a few years now on the forum. Even though I have gone to PVC enclosures, I still have a few enclosures that I made using the countertop paint. This weekend I am redoing my entire tortoise garage, and totally cleaned out and moved one of those that has been in constant use for over 4 years now. So I thought of that when I saw your post. I went out a took a picture for you. There is absolutely no breakdown of the surface. No cracks or bubbling and virtually no damage in the corners where totoises like to scratch and settle in. The only marks you see is from where some pothos was growing up the sides and attaching and I left it too long before removing the attaching runners. Even that is just superficial.

I ALWAYS use an AC exterior grade plywood. IF you don't you will see de-lamination very commonly. I seal the wood with any decent latex seal. Then, caulk the corners/edges with Loctite. I then paint with the countertop paint and do like 3 coats on the floor and up the walls 6" or so. It gives a very hard, and durable surface that is very resistant to tortoise wear. It is quite reasonably prices.

Here's the picture. Even the corners have no cracking. All you see is dirt there!

I have two tort tables that I used Flex Seal on and I couldn't be happier with it. I used it one day and filled the tables the next day. No problems.

Ty for the responses. 2e live in a Apt. No access to leave the wood on the roof or the backyard. Can I keep it in the living room to air out by the open windows? Or is there another solution like some type of mat or aquarium sealent?

I only remember smelling something upon initial use. I don't think it lingers long. I see you are in NYC, I would think you could take it down to the sidewalk and spray it, let it sit for a few minutes and that would greatly reduce the smell. I know I have seen much crazier things on the sidewalk than a guy spray painting a box.

I just used flex seal about a month ago. I only smelled it when first putting it on. I would leave it to air out just for as long as it takes to dry.
Yes if you put it by a window to air out and dry will be fine.

With having a baby in the house plus 2 dogs and a cat is why I'm leery to use it in the apt.

I can understand that but I don't think there is much to worry about once it's dry and it really doesn't take long to dry

I'll do it for you... I'm in the city everyday. I can bring it to my jobsite, spray it and drop it back off same day... No, i'm not kidding

The only down side I found with Flex Seal Liquid you can't paint over, caulk or tape it won't hold.
