New rescue

Barely two weeks after I found a tortoise on the sidewalk in front of our office another one rocked up. The poor thing looks like he was mauled by a dog. The first one is a female (Miss Muffit) and I am sure this one is a male (Mr Bojangels) as the head is a bit different. I am sure they are a couple that escaped from somewhere as it is unusual to find tortoises roaming the streets in our area.

And WOW! ! !two tortoise in two weeks! ! ! I'm not sure what I'm looking at it. Are they Egipian tortoise? What species are they??

Oh boy, this one is in sad shape. I'm thinking you're correct in your thinking that he's an escapee. His shell is way too bumpy to have been wild caught. He looks like he would benefit from a good long soak in warm water! Thanks for sharing these pictures. I'm not certain, but I THINK this is the first parrot beak tortoise a member has shown in his possession. Good luck with him, and send us more pictures over time.

HI, they are Homopus Areolatus. (parrot beak padloper)
WOW! WOW! WOW! How wonderful~ Very rare species that we can see in this forum. Thank God that you rescue them. And I (I'm also hoping "us") love to see more of them.

Oh wow! Poor babies! They dont know just how lucky they are to get rescued by a forum member!!! And I'm going to consider myself lucky to see pics of these rare specimens to boot.
